      <title>How to update a Remote Database to sync after the master Act! database is updated.</title>

Master/Published Database has been upgraded from the previous version and you need to update the remote database so you can continue to sync.&amp;nbsp;In order to follow this KB you will need to know what the new &lt;strong&gt;Master Database Server&lt;/strong&gt; and the &lt;strong&gt;New Sync URL&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 19.2000007629395px;" /&gt;

Please complete the following two tasks and you will be able to sync once again.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

: Some users may have already applied the inline via the ACT updater.
If so and they follow these steps they will be prompted to repair or
remote ACT!. In order to prevent this prompt please check what version
of ACT! is currently running before following the steps below. To check
the version of ACT load ACT and go to he Help menu &amp;gt; About ACT! and
you will see the version number. If the computer has version &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;11.1.183.0 Hotfix 1&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;
already please skip down to step 4. If you have already upgraded the

the RTG support staff can make the changes that need to be made on the
RTG ACT! hosting servers. Please contact the RTG support staff by

Once the download has competed, reboot your computer, after you

Connection Information", click it. The panel will change, You need to
make sure the Connection Type is "Internet (outside firewall)", and the

&amp;gt; Synchronize Now and you should be finished with the update. &lt;/span&gt;

up: After you have completed these steps, you can delete the files you

&lt;strong&gt;RTG's Suggested Action:&lt;/strong&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This is a non recoverable error for all Remote Databases and the Master Database. The Master is corupt and the&amp;nbsp;master&amp;nbsp;database needs to be repaired, and all remotes need to be cut from the new master.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Resolution&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/strong&gt;There is no way to prevent this error. It randomly happens. It will continue to happen in ACT! version 9. In order to prevent future issues with this error upgrade to ACT! version 10.0 (Version 10.0.0.237) or Higher&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;A bug was discovered in ACT! File sync that has been addressed in 9.01&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

You will need to manually collect from remote computers any missing files and send them to RTG. Follow these steps in order to make the process go smoothly.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;RTG will place the missing files and they should sync to each remote over the next few sync. The more missing files the longer it will take for all remotes to get all the files.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;You can check remotes for missing files by running ACTDIAG and requesting the missing files report. You can send this report to RTG support and they will send you the files that you are missing that can be located on the ACT! server. It is best if the files can sync down to the ACT! remotes but in some cases the amount of files may be too much for ACT! to complete in a normal timeframe.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;

The Problem is there is a bug in the ACT! Scheduler that causing scheduled sync to always use Network Sync, regardless of what you have specified in ACT!.&lt;strong&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;

&lt;/strong&gt;Server initialization failed. Sync initialization error occurred in database object PRC_SYNC_PROCESS_INITFILE: CANNOT DETERMINE ISATTACHSYNC VALUE!&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;RTG's Suggested Action:&lt;/strong&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This is a non recoverable error for a Remote Database. The Remote Database needs to be deleted and a new Remote Database should be cut. DO NOT RECUT the existing Remote Database, if you do the error will return with in about 2 weeks. &lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Once you restore the new remote to the users machine you can export the data that has changed since the last sync. &lt;em&gt;See a future KB on how to do this&lt;/em&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;
&lt;strong&gt;Resolution&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;/strong&gt;There is no way to prevent this error. It randomly happens. It will continue to happen in ACT! version 8. In order to prevent future issues with this error upgrade to ACT version 9.0a (Version 9.0.0.557).&lt;/span&gt;
